Introducing...

At the pub the other night The Antiquer once again raised the spectre of changing his name. I was kind of thinking of rewarding him just for showing up at the pub. And I got into work this morning to a rather insistent email that contained just a hint of threat:

PS you gotta change THAT name- i don't think i can continue to read blog if you don't
Now, before I get flooded with requests from peeps unhappy with their names - and if anyone should be, it should be k., d. and t. who are mere initials, but at least do have that snazzy bit of punctuation after them - let me just say this: this is a once-only event and will never be entertained again. And come on, it is The Antiquer.

So, ladies and gentleman, please welcome RobertPlant to the blog.

But if he tries to grow his hair or wear funky clothes from the 70s, it's all off.

Damn. Here I was getting a bit excited at the mention of your lunch with a mysterious heretofore unknown RobertPlant...

Stop it, you're spoiling him!

Carol - sheer brilliance. I am now going to amend Robert Plant to RobertPlant.

New Girl - oh but he's my little cherub, how could I NOT spoil him?!

[riotous peals of laughter]

I am going to want to know why

k. - call me and I will tell all.

But I will get confused.

The Antiquer perhaps doesn't realize that he has an obligation to others who read your blog. You have a public you know. It's not just his personal thing.

Where can I register a protest at this unwanted change? Is there a Twitter topic I can tweet to, like #fixreply?

I am sorely disappointed.

can't you just call him RubberPlant, http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=381853733&blogId=443941905

Karen, infact the one might say the Antiquer has a public, lets face it HB wouldn't be half the woman she is without the freinds she has.

Can't help but agree with Karen. #changeitback

I'd always imagined The Antiquer gadding about the countryside in tweeds and jaunty cap. Terribly erudite, witty and learned and all that. Possibly smoking a pipe.

RobertPlant evokes, well precisely *not* that.

Geez..I'm known a The Burp.....you don't hear me complaining!

I am not a fan of the change either. Remind the Antiquer that he has built significant equity in his brand name.

k. - Meow!

The Burp - well, if the shoe fits...

Everyone else - it's RobertPlant and that's that.
