Shopping today with Scarab and another mate of hers. I was walking around the city barefoot but it wasn't deliberate this time - I'd meant to bring shoes but I'd forgotten. Scarab et mate tried not to look ashamed of me, but it showed.
Twice in Myer shop assistants said to me, "Has someone stolen your shoes?"
Were they being sarky?
I think they were being sarky.
It's not nice or particularly clever. At least not when someone else is doing it.
