So I met my staff - my team - yesterday and they seem like a nice bunch. I asked a couple of them to come into my office and talk a bit about the work they do. They were most obliging and, more importantly, informative.
"Thanks very much for that. Sooooo.....now that I know what you do, can anyone tell me what I'm supposed to be doing?"
"Don't worry about it. We'll look after you."
"Ugh, okay. Well then," - and here I found myself feeling a little meek - "if it's alright with you, I'm going to duck out and meet a friend for lunch."
"Sure! Enjoy yourself!"
