I got all excited when I passed a building, the side of which had been painted an inky blue, decorated with stars and a moon, and the words "mac all night" plastered all over it. Wow, I thought, an Apple shop open all night! How cool.
Then a few days later I noticed that the ads were popping up everywhere: on bus shelters and billboards and the sides of buses. I hadn't realised how popular Macintosh had become. I was rather chuffed. Then I spied the golden arches above the wording. Oh.
Who cares if you can get a Big Mac at 3am? But chicken nuggets - now that's another story.
