Time Stre-e-e-e-tched

I arrived early for a meeting this arvo but luckily I always come prepared so while I waited for everyone else I whipped out my book and got to reading. Presently the woman running the meeting appeared and we introduced ourselves and she noticed the book and asked me what I was reading. I told her the name of the novel.

She said, "I'm reading a fabulous book at the moment. So engrossing. Just fascinating."

"Oh, what is it?"

"Managing With Carrots."

"S-sorry?"

"Managing With Carrots. It's wonderful. All about how to motivate and reward your staff. Really juicy stuff - excellent bed-time reading."

I suspected at that moment it was going to be one of those kinds of meetings. And I was right.

Heh!

Reminds me of a flatmate I had who claimed she roolly roolly liked to read but couldn't find anything on my bookshelves because there wasn't any self-help.

She didn't stay long.
