I had my first day in a classroom on Wednesday - no teaching yet, just observing. One boy told me that he'd made the last prac teacher cry. Another asked, "Are you here to learn how to be a teacher?" When I told him I was he said, "Get out while you can."
These kids have been watching way too many sitcoms.

Well I know a few people who would echo that sentiment after a couple of years of teaching. I had a student teacher in my class who never did persue it as a career...
But they do come with an amazing sense of humour given their young ages, don't they?
