I don't think I was quite enthusiastic enough just then on the phone when The Burp told me all about the cake she's made for her younger son's birthday. It's a dinosaur. She's very proud. We spent a couple of hours yesterday morning making patty cakes and honey crackles for him to take to school today. We iced them with green and blue icing. I'm glad the icing was rich because the cakes were probably bone dry today.
Anyway, she took a photo of the dinosaur so I'll be able to appreciate that with a little more zest. She coloured him green with the left over food colouring - then she sent me a text message asking if Gumption would get green food colouring off fingers.
The little chap is five today. I bought him a book on painting rocks. I picked up a book on painting faces but thought that could get me into trouble. I hope he likes it. He's very cute when he likes things.
Happy birthday, Blondie!

Yes, happy birthday Blondie!
And from all of us!
Ah, tis the season for the novelty cake.
The Boop's grandma, Soupee (is that anonymous enough?) made a spectacular Noah's ark cake, with all sorts of animal shaped biscuits on top - in two's.
Unfortunately, a couple of animals had slid off the cake by the time we finished yum-cha. But it tasted delicious - form AND function.
And amongst her two year old peers, I have heard of a giraffe and a train cake thus far.
