On Wednesday I ducked into town to do some muy overdue birthday present shopping. For people who had birthdays in March.
I can hear Jessie Mo rolling her eyes from here.
Anyway, that was summer but now winter is coming and one of these friends lives in Canberra, so I got her some chunky woollen socks, and the other lives in Sydney and goes to Thredbo to ski a fair bit so I got her a scarf and beanie.
In the card to accompany the socks I wrote, "As you slide around on your cold wooden floors, you can think warm thoughts of me."
In the card to accompany scarf and beanie I wrote, "As you zoom down the slopes at Thredders, you can think warm thoughts of me."
I'm kind of ashamed of myself but somewhat proud that I resisted the urge to write, "Geddit? Geddit?!" in each card. It's important to celebrate the little things.

LOL re celebrating the little things.
You get caught in that busted water-pipe induced traffic jam on Friday a'noon, HBB? 3 hours from Perth to Freo down the freeway.
What a shocker.
Go the docker.
Actually, since you brought up the Dockers, HBB, I hope you picked them in the tips, as I suspect they're due for another big win at Docklands (soon to be known as Dockerlands).
The Wiz and the Big Pav to kick a minimum 4 goals each. McPharlin to get 3 and Hazelby and Medhurst to chime in with 2 each.
What a well-rounded squad they are - much like the contributors to your 'blog - each with their hangups and skill deficiencies to be sure, but when goaded into action by a natural leader such as Chris Connolly, or yourself, they're unstoppable.
Well done, HBB, and keep up the good work.
Bloody Dockers. I'm ditching my tarot cards.
what hangups?!
what skill deficiencies?!
yes, in hindsight, I was a little harsh on the poor old Dockers.
