"When I arrived at the caravan" park should be written as "When I arrived at the holiday park to check-in to my stylishly appointed cabin" to set k.'s mind more at ease.
Well whaddya expect? The hotel was booked out and this was the only place in walking distance of the party (and on the way back, staggering didn't take that much longer).
