In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida

I spent virtually all day yesterday in the garden. No, I wasn't lazing in a hammock while idly sipping at a mint julep.

Note to self:
(1) Am single, independent woman who does as she pleases: buy hammock and swing, baby!
(2) Find out how to make a mint julep. I have no idea what they are but they sound so refreshing and frightfully sophisticated.

Instead I passed those hours doing some long overdue gardening. How therapeutic gardening is! I was only out there for an hour when I realised that the blue mood which had been hanging around me, most unwanted, for a couple of days had vanished - forever! Or until next time - whichever comes first.

And there's so much to do in the garden: weeding, watering, mulching, raking, digging, burying the evidence. And I did a little bit of all of it: which is to say, I did it all half-baked. Still, I did enjoy myself and I came in for dinner - or possibly for supper, because I was suddenly feeling all Rosemary & Thyme - filled with a great sense of accomplishment. It was so lovely to be out there in the warmth, enjoying the sun shining on my back. Well, let's say the sun shining on the shirt on my back. I'm all for a free & easy lifestyle but there are limits, especially if one wishes to stay on cordial terms with the neighbours.

Yes, gardening is quite the good therapy tool. But uni is over and done with for good at 5pm on Monday and after that the next warm, sunny day that comes long? I won't be out in the garden, I'll be out on the kayak.

Thanks, lovey, but I'll pass. I'd only fall out. Especially after several mint juleps. Whatever they are.

Thanks for the recipe, Anon. I'm going to have a bit of time on my hands for muddling and being muddled so shall look forward to it.

QEII: As always, you have terrified me into accepting your kind offer.

Good.
Fear is the only weapon.

Don't use dried mint, tried that with K. 15 years ago, I'm amazed she married me after that.

Word verification. "ducoma" which is apparently a Principality of Liechtenstein

Word verification is INGSPRO. Why can't it be SPROING! That sounds like the noise a hammock made once before it collapsed on me. Don't take that hammock if it's one of those freestanding ones. No, I am not referring to a rug.
