A cooked chicken or a Rembrandt

We were waiting for Burn After Reading to start. [A good movie with one major drawback: George Clooney's weight loss. He was such a pleasingly chubby man who, in my eyes, could have done with stacking on a bit more, and now he's gone all skinny. I'm sure I wasn't the only one disturbed by this.]

Anyway, as we waited I told The Antiquer how much I like New Girl's boyfriend, Man Hands. The Antiquer turned a rather cynical eye on me and said, "Of course you do: he laughs at your jokes."

Well! Rudeness! (and also correctness) I resolved then and there not to laugh at any of The Antiquer's jokes ever again, but he caught me unawares with something hilarious so I had to abandon that plan. Here's my point: I don't hold grudges.

Oh, before I forget, here's my other point: there are many reasons why I like Man Hands. Here's one. New Girl likes to buy stuff, and she's very good at it. She has a tasteful and discerning eye or two. The best part is, I am often the recipient of her largesse and Man Hands does not stint in providing the readies. How could I not like him? How could anyone not like him??

I may not hold grudges but I am oh so shallow.

A fascinating tale which has the ring of truth about it (in a macro generic kind of way). Except for the fact of Burn After Reading being a good movie.

It wasn't. It was certainly no Big Leibowski. (But then again what is?)

I'm gonna have to watch the Big Lei again as I do not remember being impressed with it. I was a young snip of a thing back then, perhaps I didn't GET IT.
Man Hands IS lovely isn't he.
Word Veri: Messes.
No one messes with Man Hands.

Welcome back to blogging, Nick.

New Girl, you mess with Man Hands, don't you? On occasion?

Oh, Nick, you will be gratified to know that you were the subject of discussion between New Girl and I yesterday evening. We concluded that:

(a) you're dead wrong

and

(b) your comment is kind of snippy.

Both of these things being completely in character. For you.

The only thing worse than being talked about is being talked about by mean people who say mean things and make you cry.

I never wanted to be snippy. I have railed against snippiness my whole life.

I've railed against Ukrainian alchoholism too and not much luck there either.
