Sea Glass

I love that it's called sea glass. Like some treasure washed up from deep in the oceans' trenches. I love that you go into a daggy little tourist shop and there they are, selling it in nylon net bags*. Someone else's litter is a delightful way to remember your holiday!

I'm glad the sea offers it back to us, gives us a chance to redeem ourselves.

*Yes, I know that stuff is usually "fake" - not authentic sea glass! - but I think you get my point. Come on, you do, don't you?

Instead of fake, I like to think of it as farmed instead of free-range
