Canned Ham took a tumble down a flight of stairs last year and did some major damage to her foot. She had treatment on it for a long time and, fifteen months later, it's still giving her trouble.
On Friday she told me, "The doctor said yesterday that I have a permanent partial disability."
We looked at each other in silence for quite a while. No other words were needed.
