This is what he does when he should be keeping an eye on dinner.

A couple of minutes after I took this snap he jumped up. "Maldicion! The onions!" Then he called from the kitchen, "Tonight's dinner is going to have a touch of smoky, barbecue-y flavour about it."

He didn't hear my reply: "That's okay. I'm sure you'll get better at this cooking thing - 'cause you're going to be doing a hell of a lot more of it."

Hint #1 from the kitchen de slatz. Onions are never burnt, nor smokey they are simply caramelised to a very dark shade of brown

Of course once they pass over to the dark side they are never quite the same.

I blog when I should be keeping an eye on dinner. Therefore, since I am easily distracted by the Internet, there frequently IS no dinner since if it involves more than just boiling water, it will burn to a crisp and I will throw it away.

That's an awesome picture.

Hmm Grumpy, I have been looking at the beer bottle there, not a Lion Nathan product is it???? Shame on you after the lion ate a poor little creature.

PS: Your head shines up nicely these days...

Gina, Grumpy burnt the meal he was cooking and it was bloody delicious. More carcinogens, please!

d. - He keeps it regularly oiled and buffed. Also, look again at the bottle. It was, i believe, raised in a coop.

Yes, it's a Coopers Mild Ale, the only major Aussie beer label not owned by a Ghanaian conglomerate.
