Last night I had a dream that I was asked to reform WA's justice system. Yes, I know - dream big, little girl!
So I came up with a plan that anyone who had pleaded guilty to a crime and would be jailed for at least twenty years would be allowed to spend one last day - heavily guarded, of course - with the friends or family of their choice, but that they would have to spend that day doing some kind of community service. Somehow I decided that all these criminals would want to plant Norfolk pines to make sure that areas with lots of old pines would have new ones coming up to replace them.
I was very happy about this. I thought about each criminal getting out of jail in 20, 30 or 40 years and going to check on the progress of his pines. Oh. But wait. Before he did that he'd no doubt want to pay a visit to the filthy little toe-rag who grassed him up in the first place.
Boy is he in for a surprise!
