And people wonder why I'm a control freak

A colleague popped into my office this morning to ask me the meaning of a word he'd not seen before. I explained it to him. A while later he popped back with a piece of paper in his hand and said, "What a day! I've now learnt TWO new words. I think you'll be fascinated by this one."

He thrust the piece of paper towards me. It was written by another staff member he supervises*. She was writing to someone to let them know that we needed them to do certain things "to ensure the process is speediated."

*But clearly not closely enough.

Expedited?

I hate the mob mentality that popularises stupid made-up words. Meanwhile at my work, we're not allowed to use real words like 'fora' because we have to cater for the same lowest common denominator.

I wanted to make a really good pun using "speed he ate it".

But I couldn't think of one.
