Predilection for Predictions

So when the new boss arrived, I ran around the workplace confidently predicting that he wouldn't stay long.

"He won't be here long, that's my prediction," I said.

And so it has come to pass that he is leaving in a couple of months. Just announced it this arvo, after he got back from two weeks' holiday.

I have just returned to my humble room after a victory circuit, popping into each and every office and asking its inhabitant to acknowledge that I was right.

"I was right wasn't I? Go on, say it."

I do that a lot around here. They love it. Lap it up.

That should have been, "It sounds like it would be an absolute joy working with you."
