A Flea In My Ear

The Burp and I were early arrivals so we sat with her mum & dad waiting for someone we knew to arrive.

I wanted to spend the evening eavesdropping on the fascinating conversations The Burpparents were having with old friends of theirs. They were all former marvellous theatrical types and seemed to have lived rather racy & interesting pasts.

Once some other youngsters got there, it was obvious that I was expected to buzz off because (a) they wanted their privacy, and (b) what was wrong with me, not wanting to go off and play with all my little friends?

Later in the evening Dr Zhivago's girlfriend, Shaggy, and I started singing Charley Pride's 'Crystal Chandeliers'. A group of oldies gave us the evil eye. I don't think they hold out much hope for this younger generation.

Na. Thet were just cranky you'd ripped their song off.

So, were there strippers there?
