Speaking of all things Burp-related - and, boy, am I going to be scraping around for content when they head back to the country next year - the Burp, while a young woman in the pink of health, has recently had to wear a heart monitor. She sent me this touching email during the week:

I'm all wired up this week. I have an "event monitor" on measuring my "events". I have to press this little button to record my hearty "event". I can take it off for showering but then I have to wipe and sandpaper - yes sandpaper!! - my skin on my chest before I put the little electrode thingies back on. Good Lord. Soon the doctor will just be able to watch my "events" for himself through my paper-thin membraneous skin.

I had to do that once - she's absolutely right! And stated it much, much better than I ever could have.
