Keeping a Stiff Upper Lip

The Antiquer and I were enjoying some pancakes (what else) at Pancakes at Carillon - Lovely!, when apropos of nada the A. mentioned Will Ferrell. Imagine all conversation muffled by greedy pancake eating.

HB: "That guy from Anchorman?"
TA: "Yeah. Hasn't he aged well?"
HB: "Well he is only in his 30s, isn't he?"
TA: "No, he'd be way older than that. He was in MASH remember?"
HB: "MASH? I don't think so."
TA: "He was. He played the doctor guy. After the other guy left."
HB: "What other guy? What the hell are you on about?! I hardly ever saw MASH. Are you taking the mickey??"
TA: "I'm not. I'm not. He was in MASH."

The conversation could have continued in this inane vein for hours, neither The Antiquer or I being the types who can just let things go. Fortunately a helpful pancake waiter shimmied, in a very Jeeves-like fashion, to our sides and after a gentle, almost murmured, cough he quietly put the matter to rest.

"I believe the gentleman may be thinking of Mr Mike Farrell, who played the character of Captain BJ Hunnicut."

And as suddenly and quietly as he had appeared, he was gone.

I looked at The Antiquer. "There!" I said. And I meant it to sting.

HILARIOUS!
But if we're making comparisons...Will does look like Trapper John...you know the guy before BJ....
