Are You Okay?

Although it isn't the type of music I usually prefer, I really like Alien Ant Farm's 'Smooth Criminal'. For a long time I thought they were singing something about someone being a karaoke addict, but it turns out I was wrong.

But what's this? I've found out that Smooth Criminal was written by Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson.

?

You know, the guy who looks like Elizabeth Taylor.

Now I just don't know what to think.

In the meantime, I enjoyed this.

It is actually okay to cover a daggy song if you make it cool. It is not okay to cover a cool song and make it daggy.

And re Michael Jackson looking like Liz Taylor? Only in America could a poor black boy grow up to be a rich white woman.

A Google search led me to it. The devil comes disguised as a friend.

Now hb, if you'd spent a bit more time watching music video tv, rather than exposing your soul to the big brother that is google, you would have seen the vid' to said song, which has an excellent Michael Jackson impersonator amongst the crowds of cool teens watching the band.

Just in case we forgot it was about taking the piss out of poor old Mick.

I deeply regret not spending more time in front of the TV.

O.G. of the O.C.

Alien Ant Farm's a pretty good band,
but the O.G. resides in Neverland.
Yes, he was a Harlem black boy.
Now he aint no Harlem black boy.

His cartier dangles 'bove a gloved left hand.
When the big hand touches the little hand
it's midnight down at Neverland
So you better watch yo back boy,
Yo, you better watch yo back, boy.

His chimp eats bananas,
B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

Have a banana.
Have a whole bunch.
It doesn't matter
what you had for lunch.
Just eat it.

Oh SuperFreo, I think you have just knocked Seamus Heaney off my list of favourite writers.

Why thank you, K. I'm now blushing like a dodo.

Gotta fly!
