The ANZ Building in Canberra was built in the 1960s, I think. Anyway, when it was finished, the builders put little rocks all over the roof (which is flat, obviously...I hope it's obvious). But then they found that the cockatoos were landing on the roof, picking up the rocks and dropping them over the edge, hitting pedestrians below.
I can imagine someone rubbing their head in pain and outrage only to look up and have their gaze met by the unblinking, bright, beady stare of a sulphur-crest. The unrepentant stare of one of those marvellous beasts. Which probably then flew off, but not before letting out a butter-wouldn't-melt-in-my-mouth whistle.
"I miss those stupid birds!"

I just have this image from Alfred Hitchcocks, "The Birds" in my head, but with Cockatoos instead of crows.
Cree-py!
